About Us
eight frames per second is a collaboration photoblog made by eight young, talented, photographers. They are: Alex, Amanda, Andrew, Artur, Jason, Jeremy, Stephen, and Volodia. The name comes from the idea that if we all took a photo of the same subject at the exact same time, the eight photos will be dramatically different because each one of us has their own unique style, vision, and technique.
Alex has loved taking pictures for as long as he can remember. He seriously began his hobby 2 years ago when he joined his school yearbook committee. Now photography editor and owner of a Nikon D200, Alex hopes he can gain more experience and practice with digital photography. His personal photoblog is still undergoing construction.
Amanda has been working with her Nikon D50 for over two years. Christmas 2007 she bought an 18-135 mm lens and fell in love. She became best friends with photoshop last year when she put together her entire high school's yearbook. She enjoys photographing people and exotic places.
Andrew has been interested in photography for a little over three years, he shoots with a Nikon D80 and has almost completed his desired collection of lenses. Andrew's photographs have been published in JPG magazine and many smaller publications.
For Artur, photography is a side project to an enveloping interest in Western artistic and rock music along with architecture and urban planning. This compadre’s Casio pocket camera is quite the antithesis to this group laden with DSLRs. He is fortunate to have all the lenses he needs. The Toronto native generally dislikes postwar suburbs and quasi-historical architecture.
Jason has been taken photos for over five years. He has been running his personal photoblog for a little over 2 years now.His first DSLR was a Nikon D80 with 18-200mm lens. Jason was the head yearbook photographer in high school.
Jeremy has been shooting for a little over two years. He rocks a Nikon D50 with a small but workable set of lenses. He prefers wide angle shots, and will seldom use his telephoto lens for anything other then lurking. He also likes long walks on the beach and candle lit dinners…
Stephen has been taking photos for a little over 4 years, and is equipped with a Canon Rebel XTi with a Sigma 17-70 lens. He is described as "A little bit country, little bit rock and roll" and hails from rural Ontario. Stephen is often found shooting nature in the forests and the fields, but does also enjoy traveling to the Big City to explore the concrete jungle. He enjoys exploring the Urban/Rural dichotomy, and the many interesting forces of nature.
Volodia takes photos around and sometimes outside of the GTA. He started photobloging in March of 2008. Takes photos of anything that he sees interesting.
